There are many reasons why your computer is suddenly running slow. It can be very annoying if you really need to complete several tasks on your computer. You can do certain ways though to solve this problem even if you are not a technician or computer geek.

First, you must determine when your computer is slow in speed. You may experience connection problems on certain periods of the day. Sometimes, browsing the Internet requires a long time if many people are using up bandwidth. If you call technical support from your Internet Service Provider, you will know the main reason why the speed is unusually slow. They may experience a period of scheduled maintenance or there may be other reasons that explain the situation. You can ask the customer support agents a way to speed up the connection, if you need urgent fast browsing speed. Although, they may not solve your problem as you expect them to do.

If you experience any downtime during the day, the problem is probably related to the computer itself. If there is a network in your home, check if other computers have the same problem of slow performance. If you are the only one that shows a connection problem, then you must solve the computer problems to fix the problem.

The first easy step to accelerate the speed of your connection is to fix some settings on your browser. Click the option of browsing history. Clear cache, cookies, and all the browsing history. You should do this regularly, about once a week. This will help a little in enhancing browsing speed. Then, you can also try adjusting the level of security that you can find in the security tab. Enter to normal levels if it is in the atmosphere is very high. Save your changes.

You can also adjust your firewall settings. If they are in a very high level, the Internet connection is restricted too much to cause a decrease in speed. Avoid disabling the firewall though because it provides protection for your computer from unwanted threats on the internet.

If the network is down, you can try resetting the router by turning it off for one minute and back again. Restart the computer also helps fix the problem. Other times, a loose network cables and power cables can cause problems. Be sure to check the cable and see if the network cable is firmly connected to a power source.
