Difference 32-bit and 64-bit On Computer Technology

The term 32-bit and 64-bit'll often we meet, [happy], especially the frequent brain-tweaking the computer and find information about your computer or on the windows. But have you clear about the term 32-bit and 64-bit? [Confused], or just read then already?, Or still curious mean? Be worthwhile to continue reading so that we are getting to know the meaning of 32-bit and 64-bit, who knows will be helpful in taking the decision to buy a PC or notebook.

The difference between 32-bit and 64-bit basically refers to the data processing technology to the processor about how to handle information. 64 bit processor will be capable of referencing data addressing the more when compared with the 32 bit processor which will have an effect on improving the performance of the overall performance of computing devices.

At the operating system, too, windows 32 bit and windows 64 bit refers to the ability of processors to be supported by the Windows operating system. Windows 64 bit can only be installed on computers with 64-bit processor. While the 32 bit windows can be installed on a computer device with a processor 32-bit or 64 bit with the consequences of the proposed 64-bit performance will not be maximized because even if a 64 bit processor will only work with a speed of 32 bits.

The different versions of 32 bit and 64 bit on a windows application refers to the version of windows operating system used. An application that is designed specifically for Windows 64 bit can only work on windows 64 bit. While the application is made for windows 32 bits may still be used on windows 64 bit with the consequences of the application data processing speed is still the same as when run on Windows 32 bit. And keep in mind also, not all 32 bit applications can run on Windows 64 bit.

Some other advantages when compared to a 64 bit system with 32 bits include faster memory access, better memory management and enhanced security features. Some security features are available on Windows 64 bit is:

Protection of data traffic passing on the kernel of the system.
Support for Data Execution Protection (Data Execution Prevention) hardware.
Removal of the 32 bit driver support. On 32 bit systems, the driver of a direct hardware access to the kernel of an operating system that resulted in the depletion of kernel memory capacity which impact on slowing the entire system. This will not happen on 64 bit system because the system allocates memory for other drivers so it will not slow overall system performance.
Elimination of subsystems in the system 16-bit applications.

One of the biggest advantages of using 64-bit Windows is the ability to access the RAM above 4 GB that previously could not be done by the system 32 bit. The ability to address more RAM to make Windows minimize the time required to swap processes in and out of RAM. Therefore, Windows can process data more quickly and efficiently.

Although it will probably require a long process time, certainly 64 bit system will replace the existing 32-bit systems today. What should you consider before switching to 64 bit system, you must consider first the following points:

Your hardware should be compatible with 64 bit systems. Many complain of the availability of drivers because the drivers that run on Windows 32 bit can not run on 64 bit systm. However, over time, the hardware developers to start providing special 64-bit drivers for hardware they produce.
Many 32-bit applications can not run on 64 bit systems due to differences in the structure of the system. But with the Program Compatibility Assistant that exist on windows 64 bit, you can still run 32 bit apps on 64 bit windows.
You will find it difficult when looking for applications that are specifically made for 64 bit systems. This is true because not all developers to rewrite the program code that they made to form a 64 bit application. As before, just wait for all software developers to write scripts program specifically for Windows 64 bit.

Anyway, maybe before you need to know exactly which computer you use today include 32-bit or 64 bit? that you can see in the properties of your computer (system), on windows vista or windows 7 you can open by right clicking on the icon on the desktop computer. See the following figure:
